Christa began working with animals professionally in 1999 as an Adoption Counselor and Animal Care Technician at the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri. Christa moved to Durham, NC in 2001 after graduating college and worked at the Durham Animal Protection Society. She began her career as a part-time pet sitter in 2002 and became a full time professional pet sitter in 2004.
Christa founded Bones Pet Care in 2010 with an emphasis on personal service and a deep love for the animals. She is dedicated to taking excellent care of the pets and providing her clients with peace of mind. She still enjoys making tails wag and cats purr on her daily rounds as well as working with her small team of pet professionals. When at home she enjoys spending time with her wife and crew of five fur balls that she dearly loves.
Leeann is a part time pet sitter and full time animal lover! As Christa’s partner of eight years, Leeann has always taken an active role in the business. She graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BS in Psychology. Leeann has been employed with the State of NC for over a decade. During the week she works in quality management, and she enjoys spoiling pets in the evenings and on weekends.
Leeann’s favorite part of pet sitting is bonding with the pets and making them smile. She has the magic touch with shy kitties and dogs. Along with caring for the Bones’ pets, she also loves to spend time with her two cats, two dogs, rabbit, and hermit crabs. She is proud to provide excellent care and love to the Bones Pet Care pets.
Sarah graduated from The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with her Master’s in Public Health in May of 2014 and currently works for the university as a Research Associate during the week. Sarah’s love of all pets inspired her to join the Bones Pet Care team. She can’t wait to meet your pets and shower them with love! In her free time she loves hanging out with her fiance’ and their two cats, Khaleesi and Charlie Brown!
Rose has been surrounded by animals for as long as she can remember. She has had a hand in raising a wide assortment of dogs, cats, and even pot bellied pigs. In her free time Rose is always making art or spending time with her family’s pets as well as her own cats, Buster and Steve. She is currently wrapping up her sculpture BFA at UNC Greensboro, but calls Durham home. Rose loves getting to know each pet’s temperament and quirks, and cannot wait to meet and play with your pets!
Jenna was born and raised around animals as her mother’s dream was having a farm. Jenna has spent time and cared for everything from ferrets, rabbits and hamsters to iguanas, horses and parrotlets. She also helped with her mother’s in-home pet boarding and mobile pet grooming business for many years. Jenna moved to North Carolina from Florida in April of 2015 with her boyfriend and their two pit bulls, Nix and Bonnie, a leopard gecko named Leah, and a ball python named Missy. In addition to pet sitting, she runs her own Etsy shop selling nerdy Greeting Cards. (PaintingReaver.com) In her spare time, Jenna enjoys off-roading in her Jeep, attending concerts, and playing video games. Jenna is very excited to meet all of your furbabies, spoiling them with cookies and kisses. She feels pet sitting is such a rewarding job because – “Whoever said diamonds were a girl’s best friend never owned a dog.”
